Ilona Korol: Building a Career in Dubai Through Resilience, Discipline, and Real Vision
Leaving her home country and moving to Dubai alone was not a spontaneous decision for Ilona Korol. It was a deliberate step into uncertainty — one that demanded courage, resilience, and an unshakable belief in personal growth. Dubai promised opportunity, but it also presented fierce competition, high expectations, and no room for hesitation. Starting from zero was not comfortable, but it became the turning point that shaped her identity, ambitions, and career.
Ilona did not arrive with a flawless plan or instant clarity. What she brought instead was curiosity, discipline, and a mindset ready to learn. She understood that rebuilding a career in a new country would require patience and humility. Every step forward would be earned. Over time, this approach transformed her challenges into foundations for long-term success.
Today, Ilona is steadily building her name in Dubai’s real estate and hospitality landscape — not through shortcuts, but through credibility, consistency, and integrity.
Ilona’s first experience with real estate came shortly after the pandemic, when the market was still uncertain. Client confidence was fragile, investments were cautious, and competition was intense. She openly admits that at the time, she was not fully prepared for the demands of the industry.
Yet even then, something about real estate resonated deeply with her. Rather than stepping away permanently, she chose to observe, learn, and improve. That period taught her one of the most important lessons of her career: growth only happens outside the comfort zone.
She returned to the industry with stronger clarity and purpose. Today, real estate is not simply a job for Ilona it is something she lives and breathes. The fast pace, the responsibility, and the impact of guiding people through life-changing decisions motivate her daily. In Dubai’s dynamic property market, she found a space where ambition meets discipline and where she truly belongs.
Moving alone to a foreign country meant rebuilding every aspect of life from the ground up. Ilona arrived without an established network, without instant trust, and without shortcuts. Every professional relationship had to be earned.
She immersed herself in learning Dubai’s property regulations, market trends, and client expectations. There were moments of doubt, long days without immediate results, and times when confidence had to be rebuilt alongside her career. But she never allowed uncertainty to stop her.
Gradually, small wins turned into momentum. Conversations became relationships. Trust replaced hesitation. Through patience and discipline, Ilona built a foundation rooted in knowledge and professionalism a foundation she continues to grow today.
Ilona currently works at The Pods Group, where she oversees both the restaurant and real estate divisions of the business. This dual responsibility sets her apart and gives her a rare advantage across two demanding industries.
On the hospitality side, she focuses on guest experience, operational excellence, and brand value. On the real estate side, she advises clients, manages property transactions, and contributes to strategic growth. This combination allows her to understand space not just as property, but as lifestyle, experience, and long-term value.
Her exposure to both industries sharpens her perspective and aligns perfectly with her long-term goal: to contribute meaningfully to impactful ventures in Dubai while becoming a recognized professional in the city’s competitive environment.
Ilona Korol offers an honest and realistic perspective for professionals considering a transition into real estate — especially those coming from completely different industries.
“If you feel drawn to real estate, you should absolutely explore it but only if you understand what you’re stepping into,” she explains. “Coming from another industry is not a disadvantage. What matters is your willingness to work hard, learn fast, and push your own boundaries.”
Before real estate, Ilona worked as an Assistant General Manager in the restaurant industry and gained experience across multiple sectors. She credits those roles with shaping her mindset.
“When your mind is strong, you learn how to analyse situations, forecast outcomes, and make decisions under pressure. Starting from scratch takes time, but nothing is impossible if you commit to learning.”
She emphasizes the importance of environment and mentorship.
“Learn from professionals. Observe how the best communicate, negotiate, and close. Choose a company that invests in your growth and truly believes in your potential.”
Ilona is also transparent about the role of visibility in today’s market.
“Social media is no longer optional. You must be consistent, visible, and open-minded. Record yourself, share what you learn, promote Dubai, and promote yourself. Recognition comes from repetition.”
At the same time, she offers a rare and honest warning.
“When you start from zero, deals take time realistically six to twelve months. You need a financial cushion. Success is not overnight. There are lucky cases, but they are not the norm.”
Many agents, she notes, leave the industry within their first six months.
“If you’re not ready to work relentlessly or don’t have a backup plan, a more stable career might suit you better. Real estate rewards patience, discipline, and resilience never shortcuts.”
Ilona does not aim to be known only for closing deals. Her priority is trust. She advises clients with the same care she would apply to her own investments, focusing on long-term value rather than quick wins.
She believes real success in real estate comes from honest guidance, clear communication, and genuine understanding of client needs. This approach has helped her build lasting relationships and a reputation rooted in integrity.
Ilona considers herself still at the beginning of her journey but one built on strong foundations. Her focus now is on expanding her impact across real estate and hospitality, strengthening partnerships, and refining her expertise.
Her long-term vision goes beyond numbers. She wants to be known as a professional who brought clarity, confidence, and value to every client interaction, someone whose career reflects trust, consistency, and meaningful contribution.
Ilona Korol’s story is a reminder that starting over is not a setback. With the right mindset, discipline, and courage, it can become the most powerful beginning of all.
