Rania Samir Barakat is a Jordanian consultant, financial planning professional, humanitarian leader, and international women’s community representative based in Jordan. Her work spans finance, civil-society leadership, humanitarian action, and global women’s networks shaped by years of professional experience and lived responsibility.
Her journey is defined not by visibility alone, but by sustained commitment, long-term leadership, and the ability to continue building through complex personal and professional realities. Rania Barakat wears many hats. She is the President of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund – Jordan Chapter, a board member of Ru’yana, a consultant with First Investment Group, Jordan’s representative in World Relay Women Riders, and Ladies of Harley Director for 2025 and 2026 within the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.s).
Among friends and close circles, she is often referred to as “Queen RB” a nickname reflecting respect earned through resilience, leadership, and presence rather than title.
Rania Barakat’s life has carried responsibility from an early stage. She married in 2001 and became a mother to her first child, Sara, in 2008, followed by twins Faisal and Noura in 2009. By 2012, her marriage reached a breaking point. She separated that year and endured three years of emotional and legal uncertainty before finalizing her divorce in 2015.
Her treatment journey included surgery in Germany, followed by chemotherapy and continued care in Jordan, concluding in 2017. This period demanded physical endurance, emotional discipline, and the ability to function as a single mother of three. Rania does not define herself by illness nor romanticize survival. Instead, the experience reinforced her belief in structure, clarity, and forward movement principles that continue to guide her professional and personal decisions.
Today, she shares her experience selectively and professionally, particularly when supporting cancer-awareness initiatives and offering guidance to newly diagnosed patients navigating early treatment stages. Her message is grounded and practical: resilience is built through consistency, not slogans.
Rania Barakat’s work with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) began as a fundraising leader, mobilizing resources, organizing campaigns, and supporting medical cases for children in need.
In 2017, following years of hands-on involvement and operational responsibility, she became President of the PCRF – Jordan Chapter. In this role, she leads executive volunteer teams overseeing fundraising, patient affairs, medical coordination, events, public awareness, and youth engagement.
Under her leadership, the Jordan chapter coordinates complex medical cases and international treatment pathways for children affected by illness and conflict working closely with regional and global partners to ensure access to life-saving care.
Her humanitarian initiatives include purpose-driven climbs such as Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Elbrus. One of the most significant efforts was the Mount Elbrus climb, undertaken specifically to fundraise for the treatment of a woman from Gaza diagnosed with breast cancer at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) an initiative that directly contributed to securing treatment and care.
Since the outbreak of the war on Gaza, Barakat has been actively supporting Gazan children with cancer receiving treatment in Jordan. Beyond medical coordination and follow-up, she has organized and delivered financial assistance to families to help cover essential living costs during prolonged treatment away from home, prioritizing continuity of care, dignity, and sustained family support.
In parallel with her humanitarian work, Rania Barakat has served as a board member of Ru’yana since 2013. The organization focuses on sustainable outreach to marginalized communities in Jordan, particularly widows, orphans, and individuals with special needs.
Her work through Ru’yana centers on women’s empowerment, education, and community development grounded in a belief that empowerment must be practical, structured, and continuous rather than symbolic.
Rania Barakat’s advocacy for Palestine is rooted in long-term humanitarian and civil-society engagement rather than performative activism. She is a founding member (2014) of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, reflecting an early and sustained commitment to justice-based advocacy.
Her involvement emphasizes principled positioning, awareness, and ethical responsibility aligned with humanitarian values and international civil-society frameworks. Across her leadership roles, she approaches advocacy with discipline, ensuring credibility, consistency, and long-term impact.
Professionally, Rania Barakat works as a Consultant with First Investment Group, a Jordan-licensed financial services firm operating across Jordan and the UAE, a role she has held since November 2024.
Her work focuses on financial planning, advisory services, and investment-related strategies within a regulated market environment. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking and brings a strong background in financial planning, advisory services, business development, and strategic execution.
Her broader career spans finance, business consulting, investor relations, human resources, and leadership development across Jordan, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia providing her with a multidimensional understanding of organizations, people, and long-term planning.
A Harley-Davidson rider since 2014, Rania Barakat currently serves as Ladies of Harley Director for 2025 and 2026 within H.O.G.s. For her, riding represents independence, focus, and discipline rather than leisure.
In addition to this leadership role, she also serves as a Road Team member with H.O.G.s, contributing to ride planning, safety coordination, and on-road leadership. The role reflects her structured approach to responsibility and her belief that strong communities on the road and beyond are built through accountability, teamwork, and shared standards.
She also represents Jordan in World Relay Women Riders, an international initiative connecting women riders across borders, reinforcing unity, representation, and shared purpose within a global women’s riding network.
Rania Barakat maintains a professional and intentional social-media presence, using digital platforms to share aspects of her work, advocacy, and lived experience without overexposure. Her content emphasizes honesty and realism, addressing both challenges and achievements while maintaining a grounded, relatable voice.
Today, Rania Barakat is a single mother of three Sara (17) and twins Faisal and Noura (16) raising her children independently following the illness and passing of their father after a prolonged battle with ALS.
She carries full parental and financial responsibility while navigating professional commitments and humanitarian leadership. Supported by a strong family network particularly her brothers she continues to build stability through discipline, consistency, and long-term vision.
Her focus moving forward is continuity: strengthening professional foundations, sustaining humanitarian impact, representing Jordan internationally, and raising resilient, responsible young adults.
Rania Barakat’s story is one of responsibility, persistence, and grounded leadership. From surviving cancer to leading humanitarian initiatives, from professional consulting to international representation, she has built a life defined by consistency rather than circumstance.
Her journey reflects a quiet certainty: leadership is not measured by ease, but by the ability to continue thoughtfully, responsibly, and with purpose.
