When Yvetka moved to Canada with her parents at the age of five, the experience quietly set the stage for her future as an artist. At the time, she didn’t speak English or French, which made connecting with other children difficult. Her parents couldn’t afford many toys, so she spent most of her time drawing, painting, and creating with her hands. Before long, the walls of their home—from the ceiling down to the couches—were covered with her artwork. What began as a child’s way of expressing herself without words grew into a lifelong passion for visual and tactile creation. That early curiosity became the foundation of her artistic practice and her way of connecting with the world.
Yvetka was drawn to abstract art because she found herself too much of a perfectionist for realism. Abstract painting offered her the freedom to express without overanalyzing every detail. Once a piece is complete, she doesn’t revisit it and that sense of finality feels perfect to her.
She is especially inspired by texture, which brings depth to her paintings and makes them feel alive. She loves how the surface shifts throughout the day as light changes, revealing new nuances and shadows.
Creating large-scale pieces for public spaces and private collectors excites her most. These environments often have a strong aesthetic presence, and since she has a deep love for interior design, it feels natural for her to create art that complements and elevates each space. One of Yvetka’s proudest achievements has been creating two seven-foot paintings for the Regent Hotel in Santa Monica, California. An art advisor from Los Angeles commissioned the pieces, and though Yvetka had never visited the location and received minimal information, she embraced the challenge wholeheartedly.
The results exceeded expectations the artworks fit the space perfectly, as if they had been created on site. The project’s scale, uncertainty, and demand for creative problem-solving pushed Yvetka to grow as an artist. She values such challenges because they teach her something new at every step of the process.
Yvetka’s professional journey began after returning to Montreal from living in China in 2017. While abroad, she taught English as a second language, but upon coming home, she felt a strong pull to explore her creative side. She started with fluid acrylic paintings, then experimented with resin before finding her passion in textured art.
Her career began to take shape quickly she started receiving commissions as soon as she began creating in 2017. Though the start was gradual, each year brought steady growth and new opportunities.
One of her biggest early challenges was discovering which mediums felt most natural to her and learning how to connect with art collectors. In Canada, where art budgets can be modest, she focused on expanding her presence in international markets such as the UAE and the USA, where there is greater appreciation and investment in large-scale, original artwork.
Yvetka is currently creating new textured works that continue to explore the universal elements found throughout her collections: texture, linguistic nuances, minimalism, and sophistication. Each piece reflects her passion for depth both in surface and in meaning.
She is also actively expanding her presence in markets such as the UAE and the USA, where there is strong appreciation for large-scale, original artwork. Her goal is to connect with collectors, art advisors, interior designers, public space owners, hotels, and restaurants anyone who shares her vision for integrating meaningful, tactile art into beautifully designed environments.
This direction aligns perfectly with her long-term goal of growing internationally and placing her work in spaces that inspire reflection and connection.
